The main aim and objective of this particular website are to present its readers with various kinds of information pertaining to Salt Lake city, located in the western American state of Utah. Utah, AKA as the Beehive State, is perhaps best known for its rocky geography, its Native American name, its almost 3 million inhabitants out of which more than half are self-declared Mormons, and last but not least, for being home to the NBA professional basketball team, Utah Jazz. Salk Lake City’s very own Vivint Smart Home Arena is home to the Utah Jazz team and, as such, its halls and locker rooms have seen notable players of the likes of Karl Malone and John Stockton.
As mentioned before, the name of the state derives from a Native American word that, in the language spoken by the Ute tribe, means “people of the mountains”. There are some scholars, however, that hold that the word Utah is in fact derived from Yudah, meaning tall person or object (high, in the latter case), in the language spoken by the Apache indigenous people. In any case, either Native American word would strongly suggest the reference to the mountains and rocky formations typical of the topography of the region of the state of Utah.
Throughout the various following posts and different pages on this website, the reader will be able to find plenty of useful information about the state of Utah and Salt Lake City; in particularly concerning tourist aspects of the region.
